Scouting in the Summer

Have you ever been scouting locations?

For me (especially when I'm scouting alone) it's like a meditation. I'd look and stare, search and try. No deadlines, no timelines only the feeling of being free.

At first I look around, and if some points catch my eyes, I'd come closer and point my camera.

Quiet often the spot that you see as beautiful and useful, becomes blunt and dull in camera. Sometimes a shot that I made just to check that I've seen it, could become a main attraction.

But the main thing is to scout with a camera, not an iPhone. Camera gives me a sense of stepping back into my first days in photography, when I was shooting flowers and little insects.

This lovation I was scouting for a fashion shoot on a quiet hot summer day, it was around +37 by Celcius. People were chilling by the pool, drinking lemonade and enjoying their day. I was wet because of the black t-shirt and a heavy camera on my neck, but I was happy. No timelines, no deadlines.

Oh, just to let you know. I didn't choose this location. Yes, it happens)
